An annual event that give the public a way to support their neighbors in need while enjoying some tasty food prepared by area eateries will once again be taking place in Plano.
The fare will be bowl-friendly, and each of the event’s attendees will be going home with a special item they can use in their own kitchen.
At least 14 establishments have already signed on to be a part of this year’s “Empty Bowls” fundraiser, and the list is expected to continue to grow. It will be a casual affair, and everyone is welcome to enjoy the experience.
The fundraiser is quite simple - each ticket holder will receive a handcrafted and decorated bowl of soup, stew or other cuisine, and when they are done, they will be able to keep the container. The hope is that these will serve as reminders that not everyone is lucky enough to have food in their bowl and also that even the small efforts of just one person can make a big impact.
There may still be spaces available for any local eateries that would like to get involved in this event, or sign up as sponsors. Stationery printers can provide certificates of appreciation that can be given to any businesses that choose to support this sort of activity.
This easy way for community members to help their neighbors will be held at 3677 Mapleshade Lane on February 27.
