Local businesspeople who would like to learn more about the legal aspects of running their operation, especially from a human resource management perspective, may wish to make plans to attend an upcoming Plano event.
The Legal Aspects of Running a Business sessions will explore several topics that can help a business owner to ensure that his or her enterprise runs as smoothly as possible. There is no cost to participate.
The workshops will address issues such as hiring and firing, the differences between an employee and an independent contractor, different types of employee payment schemes, confidentiality, technology use policies, and crafting employee handbooks. It will be facilitated by Terry Traveland of Traveland Law, and is open to anyone who feel it may be of use to them.
Those who have physical challenges or require other accommodations have been asked to let the organizers of the learning sessions know this in advance. Print shops in the area can be counted on to supply Copies of handouts and any other printed instructional materials that will be used during this type of educational event.
