McAllens festival aims to give families a brighter Christmas
McAllen will be aiming to impress its residents and visitors with the opening of the South Pole Illuminated Festival this holiday season.
Spectators can expect 100 giant lantern displays, millions of lights, illuminated tunnels, and America’s tallest digital Christmas tree as part of the upcoming festival.
The month-long event will feature holiday firework shows and musical performances across its duration. Visitors can sample regional flavors thanks to the many local food vendors that will be on offer. Families may also have the chance to take part in interactive displays, character meet-and-greets, and children’s activities designed to ensure the experience is more engaging for younger visitors.
The organizers encourage attendees to arrive early enough to experience the full lightning, evening fireworks, and special performances on select nights. During events like this, planners can leverage poster printing to guide attendees through the performance schedules.
While tickets will be available at the entrance, organizers urge attendees to buy their tickets prior to the evening they wish to attend, to ensure they won’t be affected if the festival sells out. With its vibrant light art and festive entertainment, organizers are aiming to attract families from across the entire Rio Grande Valley.
Hosted at McAllen Convention Center, the South Pole Illuminated Festival will open on Saturday, November 29, 2025, and run nightly through December 29, 2025.
