Environmental workshop returns to McAllen

McAllen community leaders have confirmed that a public workshop will be held in April. This seminar is open to the entire family.

This year's event will be focusing on the importance of water preservation, and it is also expected to provide the audience with various hacks that can be used around the home. Similar to previous gatherings, guests are encouraged to participate in a hands-on workshop guided by experts. These professionals will highlight the steps involved when creating a rainwater barrel from scratch. Once the barrels have been constructed, guests can design them with the use of paints provided at no charge.

Similar to other events hosted by the International Museum of Arts & Science (IMAS), the MPU Rain Barrel Family Workshop has been made possible by community sponsors. The McAllen Recycling Center, and the McAllen Public Utility Water Company have both chosen to be sponsors.

Community-oriented seminars associated with environmental sustainability will often use green marketing techniques to keep the public informed. Examples include partnering with eco-friendly printing services and using recycled paper when handing out Flyers.

The MPU Rain Barrel Family Workshop is being held on Saturday, April 25 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. It will take place within the International Museum of Art & Science located at 1900 W. Nolana Avenue. The price of the workshop and materials is included in the general admission fee. This cost has not yet been announced, so interested parties should refer to the official IMAS website for future updates.
