McAllen workshop to share ins and outs of cookie dcor

Both amateur and experienced bakers from McAllen will be adding to their toolbox of cookie decorating skills when they participate in a workshop that will be held this October.

CC’s Sweets and Treats’ Roberta and Tracy will guide the class through a variety of decorating techniques, and while the students work, there will be lots of time for fun and laughter. The learning will be hands-on, and each participant will be welcome to work at their own pace.

‘Halloween Basics’ has been chosen as the theme of the day, and the participants will learn techniques such as flooding, piping, airbrushing, polka dotting, stenciling, marbling, and creating textures. Each student will craft eight decorated cookies to take home with them, and there will also be an introduction to using royal icing.

Midway through the workshop, there will be a break during which the students will be offered a chance to relax and socialize over light refreshments. At the end of the event, each attendee will go home with their cookies, as well as a workbook and goodie bag. A printing services provider will be able to supply items such as these.

This workshop, which is open to both novices and expert bakers alike, will be held on October 21. The venue for the occasion is located at 5401 North 10th Street in McAllen.
