New drivers may not always be aware of the importance of being careful behind the wheel, and teens have been asked to join with their parents or caregivers and come to day of activities in McAllen designed to help them make wise driving choices.
This special event, which will be held in the McAllen Medical Center, will include a variety of topics that can help to ensure that all of the participants will keep safety in mind when they operate their vehicle. It will also provide tips for passenger safety, and it will include a first-hand look at what can happen should a crash occur.
The students in the workshop will learn about the dangers of distracted driving and the risks that someone can face should they choose to text while they drive. Other safety issues, including the benefits of buckling up their seat belt for each trip, will also be included.
A portion of the time will be spent on a tour of the hospital so that the participants can see what the outcome may be if they make unsafe driving choices. The event is free, and spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. It will be held in the McAllen Medical Center, and certificates will be awarded to each student. Stationery printers can supply items such as these.
This workshop that will focus on the importance of safe driving will be held on June 30. The HAR website has been updated with more information about this event.
