Texas is home to at least 18 species of hummingbirds, some of which make their way to Canada and back again each year, and these colorful Flyers will be the focus of a McAllen presentation next month.
Local gardeners and others who would like to find out more about the tiny birds are welcome to reserve their seat for the “Bring on the Hummingbirds” installment of McAllen Main Library’s Nature Series. The presenter for the session will be Anita Westervelt, who is a Texas Master Naturalist, and she will share her knowledge of these fascinating flyers.
The season will explore how choosing the right plant can attract the birds, with at least 12 plants on the list for discussion. The attendees can ask questions and share their own tips. At the end of the presentation, everyone will walk away with a better understanding of what the birds need to survive.
A workshop or class can compress a lot of information into a short amount of time. Handouts prepared by a brochure printing company will make it easier to share even more details.
