McAllen plans high-flying festival
While several species of North American butterflies make an annual migration, monarchs are perhaps the best known, and they will be the center point of a McAllen festival.
The city will be partnering with local business and not-for-profit groups to bring the McAllen Monarch Festival to the community. Everyone who plans on attending is encouraged to choose orange attire in honor of these colorful long distance flyers, and it will offer activities for all ages.
The main stage at the event will see various performers provide live entertainment, and Boy and Girl Scouts will be able to work on their badges. A vendor area with handmade crafts and other items, as well as food, will be set up. Kids can strut their stuff in the Pollinator Parade, which will be led by the city’s mayor. Tickets may be purchased at the gate, but those who wish to reserve theirs ahead of time and avoid the lines can reserve theirs online.
Outdoor festivals take full advantage of the fresh air and sunshine, and many of the materials prepared by a banner printing company can withstand being out in the sun and other elements. These come in many styles, including ones that pop up when in use but fold flat for storage.
