McAllen fishing tournament to make its return
Those who enjoy nothing more than being out at sea are welcome to put their skills to the test in an upcoming McAllen tournament that will be marking its fourth year.
For an entry fee of $50, participants in the fourth annual LCD 956 King of the Water Fishing Tournament will have a chance to vie for the top spot in several categories. They will have two days to make their catch, and both first and second place winners will receive a prize.
The divisions open to the fishers include the heaviest catfish, carp, bass, and alligator gar, as well as the heaviest slot redfish, and those who opt to register early will receive a T-shirt printed with a fun graphic design.
As well as the angling, the event will feature raffles and other draws, and food will be available for anyone who would like a bite to eat. Community vendors will be on site as well, and with so much going on, the organizers are hoping the function will be a sell-out.
The 4th annual King of the Water Fishing Tournament will run from 4:00 pm on Friday, June 25 to 4:00 pm on Saturday, June 26th. Details about how to register have been added to its internet listing, and registration for the tournament is now open.
