Learning the rules of English grammar can sometimes be tricky for a child, and during two days of learning that will be held in McAllen, educators will learn a set of tools that they can use to make the process much easier.
The event, which will model teaching techniques such as layered instruction, has been adapted from the STAAR test. It covers a variety of topics, ranging from grammar to writing, reading, and more, and will use techniques that can be adapted to the classroom.
Each person who takes part in the day of learning will walk away with a set of skills that they can use to improve their teaching abilities, as well as a copy of Text Structures from Nursery Rhymes and Grammar Keepers. According to the organizer, it is intended for anyone who teaches writing from the kindergarten to the high school level, as well as those who help prepare students for the STAAR writing and reading tests. A local printing company can use comb binding and other techniques to craft materials for a course like this.
