McAllen birders who would like a chance to add a new “lifer” to their list may want to attend a birding festival that will offer this potential.
Weslaco will be welcoming the return of Spring Chirp, which is described as being a boutique-style birding festival. While the feathered friends may be the main draw, there will be lots of other wildlife to observe. Thanks to the local climate, its mix of flora types, and its location on a major flyway, it tends to attract large numbers of species passing through on their way north.
The festival will have lots to offer both experienced and novice birders alike. There are several premium field trip destinations to choose from as well as presentations, garden tours, and meals.
Spring Chirp Is a production of Valley Nature Center and the City of Weslaco itself. Plenty of accommodation is available in the local area.
