A McAllen area wetland that provides a home to a diverse range of avian species is planning a guided tour of its wetlands, and both novice and experienced birders can brush up on their ID skills.
The species that can be found at the Edinburg Scenic Wetlands and World Birding Center include many types of waterfowl, and both common and rare species can be spotted at the site. Admission to the activity is included with the admission fee to the venue, and the season will run for one and a half hours.
During the outing, the group can expect to see ducks, grebes and fish-eating pelicans, as well as wading shore birds such as sandpipers. The participants will discover how they have adapted to this particular environment, and they will also learn about their niche in the location’s ecosystem. As the number of available spaces is limited, advance registration has been requested.
