McAllen area fair to point the way to better health

A McAllen area community has invited its residents to attend a fair that will be focused on health and wellness.

Thanks to a partnership between the Mission Regional Medical Center and The Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce, the annual Mission Community Health and Wellness Fair will soon be making its return. An assortment of services will be on offer on site, and some require advanced registration.

Those who attend the function will be able to have an assortment of health-related tests performed, and these screenings will alert them to any concerns that arise. Blood testing will be available if arrangements for this are made ahead of time, and vaccines will be on offer as well. Appointments can be booked ahead of time, and the results of the testing may then be shared with the individual’s doctor or other healthcare provider.

Along with the testing, there will be booths set up by community health partners that would like to connect with the public. These displays will help point the way to a healthier lifestyle, and promotional Pens and other swag may be distributed to the crowd.

This day dedicated to the health of the community is scheduled for December 9. The Mission Event Center will be hosting the occasion, and additional information and a chance to book an appointment may be found online.
