McAllen area course planning tournament with a twist
Usually, when the sun goes down, golf is over for the day, but an upcoming McAllen event will turn that idea on its head.
The Los Lagos Golf Course & Putter's Grill will be giving golfers a chance to keep playing by hosting a fundraiser for the local Cross-Disability Community. While it will be a friendly tournament, prizes will be presented in various categories, and individual tickets are $75 each, plus any fees and taxes.
Once the registrants have arrived, they will be able to check in and meet the other players. They can also purchase raffle tickets as well as mulligans (second attempts at shots) and T-shirts. The play will kick off with a shotgun start, and each hole will accommodate two teams. These will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. The function will wrap up with an awards presentation and raffle draw winner announcements.
Many golf outings see the host present the players with bags of branded swag. These can be prepared by local printers that craft custom promotional products, and they will even be able to prepare a special logo design to help build the buzz about it in the community.
This evening of golf after dark will begin at 7:00 pm on August 4. Tee-off time is 8:30 pm, and its registration system is now live.
