McAllen mothers-to-be, as well as their support person who would like to learn more about the process of childbirth, will be able to do so during a class that will be offered in their community.
During the South Texas Health System’s childbirth education workshop, future parents will receive a variety of information so that they will know what to expect during the birth of their child. An assortment of topics are on the agenda for discussion, and a tour of the McAllen Medical Center’s delivery suites is also included in the day.
The attendees in the class will be given information about pregnancy, labor, and delivery, and also the postpartum period. There will be a review of the physiology involved, as well as breathing and other relaxation techniques, newborn care, and nutrients, and birthing videos will be shown. The event will run from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm, and a lunch break is included in the schedule. Brochure printing and other services for this type of occasion can be sourced from a printer in the area.
The McAllen Medical Center (MMC), which is located at 301 West Expressway 83, will be hosting the learning session. It is free for parents who are preregistered at The Birthing Center at either the MMC or The Women's Corner at Edinburg Regional, and it will be held on March 3.
