Another hurricane season is coming fast, Houston business and individuals who take a seat for an upcoming webinar will be better able to weather the storm.
The Houston Human Resource Association offers a variety of learning opportunities, and its “HR Guide For Hurricane Season and Disaster Preparation” presentation will be offered in mid-May. It will be offered on the Zoom platform, and those who are interested need to register by no later than 9:00 am on its scheduled date.
The activity while exploring being hurricane ready from a variety of perspectives, including how it can legally impact a business. Employment attorneys from Cozen O’Connor will share tips and knowledge, and the information shared will be both practical and actionable. Notification obligations, payroll issues, job protections for staff that had to evacuate, and addressing how it can impact ADA and FMLA measures will all be discussed. Professional development credit hours may be available for the registrants, and registration is complimentary for Association members. Non-members will be asked to pay $25.00 each.
