Houston activity to offer nature-based learning

Houston parents who are looking for a simple way to introduce their kids to the STEM core subjects may want to reserve their place on an activity that will combine learning with fun.

Hope Farms will be welcoming the winter solstice with a kid-friendly gardening workshop. Horticulturalists in training will learn about photosynthesis, and they will be getting their hands dirty as part of this interactive session, so it may be advisable for them not to wear their best clothes.

Along with a discussion about photosynthesis, the kids will learn about how different plants may require different care to thrive. They will talk about how plants are grown for food and which parts are eaten, and the cycle of the seasons and how this impacts planting will also be discussed. Everyone will have a chance to do some taste testing, and parents are welcome to stay on site with their children.

Activities that make learning fun may benefit from the services of Stationery printers. They can craft coloring sheets, handouts and a wide selection of other educational materials that may provide additional information for the participants an event.

Hope Farms is planning to offer this activity for kids on Saturday, December 10. It has a suggested registration donation of $40, and it will run from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
