Upcoming event showcases local restaurants

The 14th annual Menu of Menus Extravaganza is taking place next month. Hosted by the Houston Press, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Kids Meals.

More than 40 restaurants from the Houston area will be providing samples of their food, as well as cocktails, wine, and beer. It will allow the public to discover new eateries, as well as give those restaurants an opportunity to gain new customers.

The main event of the evening though will be the 5th annual Iron Fork Chef competition. Chefs Jean-Philippe Gaston and Lyle Benton will be given a basket containing a secret ingredient and they will have to create a dish from those ingredients only. The event is moderated by Chris Shepherd and the dishes will be judged by local celebrities. The winner will receive the Iron Fork award.

Kids Meals is an organization that provides free nutritious lunches to disadvantaged preschool children in Houston. The participating Houston restaurants will probably want to advertise the fact they are involved in this event, and many may invest in Flyers to post at their establishments.

The Menu of Menus Extravaganza will be held at Silver Street Station on April 5 from 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm. Tickets are $55 each or $95 for VIP, which includes early admission, and tables of 10 are also available for $1,500. Only those over the age of 21 will be admitted.
