A Houston institution has set the date for an activity it hopes will spark an interest in reading among kids, as well as an appreciation for their local library.
The Jesse H. Jones campus of Houston's Central Library will be welcoming families for its Enchanted Ball and Festival, which is geared towards its youngest patrons. It will be filled with hands-on fun, and it will take place during the morning hours.
Kids who attend the celebration will be invited to dress up and move to the music, which will be supplied by Mr. Pete of Mr. Pete's Playhouse. They can make a craft to take home, and there will be other activities designed to help foster both brain development and early literacy skills. Each child is encouraged to dress to impress, with photo ops available.
A special activity like this may benefit from being heavily promoted in its home community, and a poster printing company will have promotional options to choose from. Once an order has been placed, it will be filled quickly, and both single and multi-use styles are available.
This chance for Houston parents to put their toddler's feet on the path to literacy will run from 10:30 am until 12:00 pm on Saturday, May 16. It will be held in the venue's 4th Floor Program Place and Kids Room.
