Teams compete for the best barbecue title

The World’s Championship Bar-b-que Contest is taking place early next month in Houston. The event is a pre-show for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, which will run for three weeks.

Over 250 teams are expected to compete in this year’s contest. They will be competing for Best Barbeque in the categories of chicken, brisket, and ribs, and an Overall Grand Champion will also be crowned.

Each team will host its own tent but several areas will be open to the general public, such as the Miller Lite Garden, the Rockin’ Bar-b-que Saloon, and the Chuck Wagon offering food and drink. There will also be musical entertainment from artists such as Bri Bagwell, Mike and the Moonpies, Cory Morrow, and the Flatland Cavalry. All visitors will receive a free sliced barbecue sandwich. In addition, they will have access to the carnival with rides and games.

To help advertise events such as these in Houston, organizers often invest the services of local Stationery printers to provide them with Brochures and Flyers.

The event will be held at NRG Park from March 2 to 4. Admission is $15 for adults or $5 for children between the ages of 3 and 12, while a season pass is $25 and drink tickets are $2 each and admission to the carnival is included. For the latest information, call 832-667-1210.
