Parents of kids with special needs often benefit from some time on their own, and a Houston event will offer just such an opportunity early next month.
For five days this August, The Caroline School in Houston will be offering a morning respite care program for kids from ages six to fourteen. This initiative is being offered thanks to support from Easter Seals of Greater Houston, and there is no fee being charged to sign up.
While their parents or caregivers take a break to run errands, enjoy a meal out, or just have some time on their own, the kids will enjoy safe and supervised fun. Each child will be paired with a trained volunteer, and they will be able to play and engage in a variety of activities that will be geared towards their ability and their cognitive and developmental level.
Many activities like this require a parent or caregiver to sign waivers and other business documents. These can be designed for a specific event by area Stationery printers, and are often budget friendly.
This offer of respite care will start on August 2, and the final date is scheduled for August 6. Each day will run from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm. The Caroline School is situated at 4888 Loop Central Drive in Houston.
