The Design New Houston exhibit will be showing at The Printing Museum until this July.
The exhibition features the works of the finalists in a juried competition. The competition saw over 300 submissions from six counties in 14 categories, such as poster design, typography, environmental, and brand strategies.
The jurors were Matteo Bologna, Ellen Lupton, and Claudia De Almedia. The final decisions were made in February and winners in each category were announced at the opening reception in March.
On a related note, the Montrose Print Market - Summer Edition will also be taking place at the Museum this June. This is an open air market that will have live music and refreshments. The Printing Museum's artist in residence, Charles Criner, will also be there to sell his Print to mark the 150th anniversary of the Texas Emancipation Proclamation.
There is no doubt that many of those who work for Houston printing companies will want to visit this exhibition at least once, perhaps using it as inspiration in their own work.
Design Now Houston will be showing at The Printing Museum until July 4. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday and admission is $8. The Montrose Print Market will be held on June 13 from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. For information about either of these events, call 713-522-4652.Get a Free Quote for Print
