Popular annual art festival returns to Houston

The Bayou City Art Festival is taking place next month in Houston for three days. It is a presentation of the Art Colony Association.

This is a juried visual arts festival that will feature 300 artists in 19 mediums from all around the country. Those mediums will include watercolors, pottery, oils and sculpture. The featured artist for this year's festival is McKenzie Fisk who is known for her use of geometric shapes and bright colors.

In addition, there will be information booths from local non-profit and community organizations, many of which will be hosting art-related activities for people of all ages. There will also be a children's creative zone and musical entertainment.

Several food trucks will on the site as well as concession stands selling food and drink.

Admission is $12 per day for adults in advance or $16 at the gate and $5 for children between the ages of 6 and 12; adult admission for a group of 10 or more is $8 per person. A two-day pass is $20 and a one-day family pass costs $30. Tickets for the shuttle bus are $4.
