The Houston Art Car Parade Weekend is taking place next month, presented by the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art.
There are several events planned for the weekend that should attract thousands of visitors. The first event is the Main Street Drag on April 6 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, where a convoy of art cars will be on display. This will be followed later in the evening by the Sneak Peek at Discovery Green Park, which will have music, food, and over 100 art cars.
The next day features the Legendary Art Car Ball at Hermann Square beginning at 6:00 pm. There will be performance art, lots of costumes, street performers, and music from artists such as Calliope Musicals and SoulDig. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door.
The 30th annual Parade will be held on April 8 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. It will travel from Smith to Lamar. Hundreds of cars will be participating. The weekend will finish off with an awards ceremony and brunch at Smither Park.
No doubt organizers of this event will be advertising widely in Houston, which may involve investing in poster printing services.
