In 2020, Houston was given the designation of “Bird City,” and an upcoming week of activities will show even more love to local feathered friends.
The city will be holding Bird Week this September, and a variety of activities will be held in honor of the occasion. Houston is an important stop on the north and south flyways for many species with billions of birds passing through each year, and those who participate will learn how they can bid them a warm welcome.
The plans for the week include both in-person and virtual workshops, presentations, and outings, and watch parties are also in the works. A movie night will see the screening of an avian-themed film, and local camera buffs will show off their skills in a photo contest. The celebration is an initiative of the Young Professionals advisory Council, and an assortment of local conservation organizations will be getting involved as well.
A poster printing company will have many of innovative ways of marketing a festival or other community event. It will also be able to craft a snappy Logo Design and other branding.
Houston’s 2022 Bird Week celebrations will run from September 17 to 24. The local chapter of the Audubon Society provides more details and a schedule of events for those who plan on taking part.
