Houston is preparing for another Small Business Saturday in a month’s time.
The event will feature critically acclaimed presenters, with sessions and seminars for attendees. There will also be live entertainment from local artists along, with book signings and keynote speakers.
Small Business Saturday was initiated in November of 2010 by American Express. The purpose was to encourage shoppers and consumers to support their local small businesses.
Among the ideas that the day seeks to promote are that shopping locally will stimulate the area’s economy and create jobs close to home, and that local businesses also tend to provide better customer service as they rely on nearby residents to keep their business sustained.
The initiative has grown year-on-year, with an estimated $14.3bn spent on small business Saturday in 2014. The Small Business Expo is a unique event where local Houston businesses may come together as one to support the local community’s needs, creating an opportunity for attendees to pick up Promotional Products and Brochures for future needs.
The expo will take place on Saturday, November 28, from 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm. The event will be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
