The Houston Center for Contemporary Craft will soon be unveiling its TG: Transition in Kiln Glass. To introduce this artform to the public, it will be hosting a hands-on suncatcher crafting workshop in March.
The venue will be the location for a four-hour class that will give members of the public an introduction to the art of working with colored acrylic, which will have the look of stained glass. Families are welcome to enjoy the activity as a group, and the materials used to prepare the projects are covered by the registration fee.
Each of the attendees will be invited to learn how to cut the acrylic supplied to them, and they can experiment with the various colors and shapes, as well as the looks that can be achieved by layering. The finished pieces can then be hung in a sunny window or other location to help welcome the arrival of spring.
Offering a hands-on class can encourage the public to try their hand at a new activity. Stationery printers will be able to prepare waivers as well as Letterheads and other business Forms for a not-for-profit group like this.
This Saturday afternoon of crafting acrylic suncatchers is scheduled for March 4. The Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, which will host the session, can be found at 4848 Main Street.
