Houston horticulture lovers are invited to spring into a new season by participating in a local volunteer activity this April.
The staff at the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center have put out a call to the community seeking helping hands for a planting project. Dubbed “Plant-A-Palooza,” it will be on offer free of charge, and those who participate will be doing a good turn for the site as well as the local wildlife.
Those who take part in the function will be planting native wildflowers and grasses that were grown at the arboretum. This is part of an overall management plan for the site’s native grasslands. The work will take place outdoors, and everyone will be asked to keep socially distant. The activity is suitable for those ages 16 and up, and all help is welcome.
Community service projects like this give the public a way of getting involved, and printers can play a role in their success. They will be able to supply small Promotional Products to give to each volunteer to thank them, as well as marketing items, sign-in sheets, Letterheads, and any other materials needed.
The opportunity for local plant lovers to get their hands dirty will be held on Saturday, April 9. Registration is required, and the function will run from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm.
