The 26th annual Houston Turkish Festival is taking place next month for two days.
The festival promises to have something for everyone to enjoy while it showcases the history and culture of the Eurasian nation.
There will be entertainment provided by the Tuana Ensemble, belly dancers, and whirling dervishes. Some of the musical performers who will be appearing this year are Ismael Lumanowski and the Curcuna Band.
Of course, there will be plenty of traditional Turkish foods to try such as falafel (chickpea balls), kebabs (cooked meat), and baklava (pastry). There will also be Turkish wine and coffee available for purchase.
There will be a children’s activities area that is set to feature face painting, coloring, jewelry making, and live entertainment. In addition, the International Pavilion will be highlighting eight countries, including Pakistan, Russia and Brazil, and will feature its own entertainment.
A popular draw will surely be the grand bazaar. It will feature over 20 vendors who will be selling Turkish-related merchandise such as arts and crafts, food, and clothing.
