Best barbecue in Houston returns

The 4th annual Houston BBQ Throwdown is taking place next month. It is a presentation of Burnt Brisket LLC and the Houston Barbecue Festival.

Representatives from 14 Houston restaurants will be on hand to compete for several awards. This will include last year’s Judges Choice winners El Burro and the Bull and Beaver’s Westheimer. All of the restaurants will be competing for Judge’s Choice and People’s Choice awards. Each participant will provide the judges and the public with samples of their food.

This is a blind judging contest that will decide who makes the best Houston-style BBQ. The judges this year include Houston Chronicle’s food critic, Alison Cook, Wayne Mueller of Louie Mueller BBQ and Will Buckman from CorkScrew BBQ.

VIP tickets are available for $130 each; ticket holders will have the opportunity to view the judges’ panel in the Investor’s Pub.

In addition, guests will enjoy unlimited beer samples.

Over 600 people attended last year’s event and it is expected to sell out. To advertise events like this in the community, organizers often invest in flyer printing services from their favorite Houston printing company.

The Houston BBQ Throwdown will be held at the Saint Arnold Brewing Company on September 16 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. General admission tickets are $65 each. For current information about this event, call 713-686-9494.
