The 42nd annual Houston World Series of Dog Shows will be held in the city for five days next month.
The midsummer show will attract dog lovers from all over the area, and there will be plenty of activities for all of them to enjoy.
The main draw for many is the competition to choose the best of breed. Dogs that win here are eligible to compete in other shows leading up to Westminster Dog Show.
The public can Meet the Breeds and get hands-on access to the dogs. They can also watch the barn hunt, weight pull, and dog grooming contests. There will also be demonstrations of flyball, canine Frisbee, and musical freestyle, along with training and sports for attendees’ dogs to participate in.
McScotty Market will feature vendors selling dog-related merchandise such as toys, food, and clothing. In addition, several breed rescues will be hosting booths.
Other activities include the Dr. Mari Jon Filla Student Art Exhibit and the CAP Designers Doghouse competition. There will also be a silent auction.
