The 4th annual Asia Fest is taking place next month in Houston, presented by the Asia Society Texas Center in recognition of Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month.
There will be various stages set up for live entertainment of all kinds, including music and dance, art exhibits, and creative, hands-on activities. Some of the performance included this year will be a Persian youth dance, Chinese youth dancers and Bharatanatyam Indian dance. Activities are set to include tai chi, Japanese ikebana, and Chinese calligraphy.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to try a variety of Asian and fusion dishes.
Vendors will be on hand to sell arts and crafts and other merchandise. Applications are being accepted for vendors until April 30. Fees are $100 for a food truck, $100 for a 10 x 10-foot booth and $125 for 10 x 20 feet; the booth space includes tables and chairs.
Sponsorships are available from $1,000 to $25,000, and sponsors will receive recognition at the event and booth space. Volunteers are still being accepted too.
To advertise in the Houston area, organizers might invest in the services of a local poster printing firm.
The Asia Fest will be held at the Asia Society Texas Center on Saturday, May 19 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Admission is free. Call 713-496-9901 for the most current information about the festival.
