Palace Theatre schedules Christmas programs

The Palace Theatre, at 300 S Main Street, has six concerts lined up between the end of November and mid-December.

North Central Ballet will be presenting a short and sweet version of the Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker on Sunday, November 28 beginning at 3:00 pm. Before it, the Sugar Plum Fairy Tea Party is scheduled for 2:00 pm at the Lancaster Theatre. Performers from the ballet will mingle with the guests for photos and autographs. Tickets are $15 to the ballet and $12 to the party.

Some tea party attendees take their photos to local Stationery printers to be made into Christmas cards.

On December 3, “The Return of the Nutcracker,” William Lee Martin’s stand-up routine, has been billed as “A Christmas Standup Spectacular.” The performance will begin at 8:00 pm.

Ricki Derek will have a “Merry Little Christmas” on December 4. This will be the 12th year the holiday crooner has brought back the essence of earlier Christmas TV specials such as those hosted by Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and Bing Cosby.

Keeping up the singing theme, Kraig Parker will return to Grapevine with his “Elvis Christmas Special” on December 5 at 4:00 pm.

On Friday, December 10 at 7:30 pm and Saturday, December 11 at 2:00 pm and again at 7:30 pm, Wishing Star Stage Company Production presents a live radio show of Frank Capra’s “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

Finally, Will Hearn will bring the “Grand Ol’ Christmas Show” along with Blue Water Highway, gospel singers, and the N-O-E-L Radio Orchestra on Sunday, December 12 at 4:00 pm.
