Nash Farms will be getting ready for its 20th Annual Nash Farm Fall Round-Up in October.
The family-friendly farm event traditionally takes guests back into time to view farm-related machinery, events and processes. Attendees can enjoy seasonal hands-on activities at The Agricultural Expo. Some of these will be grain processing, rope making and other farm tasks. Grapevine guests can enjoy viewing farm animals, going on pony rides and watching campfire cooking demonstrations. Many may join in making apple pies. Competitions such as bucket brigade races and old-fashioned games will be part of the historic carnival.
Farm skills such as carpentry, food preservation, sewing and livestock maintenance will be demonstrated outside the farmhouse at the Farmers Institute.
Although there will be no admission charges some of the activities will require coupons.
Although concession stands will have treats and beverages for purchase, many families opt to bring picnics from home and have their lunch in the Pole Barn Pavilion.
Families like to take their little ones to events such as this so they can see farm animals. Many take pictures of their kids with goat kids and take the photos to local Stationery printers to be included as the fall picture in their yearly family Calendars.
The 20th Annual Nash Farm Fall Round-Up will be October 17th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at Nash Farm, 626 Ball St.
