Grapevine ushers in the holiday season

The Christmas Capital of Texas will be bringing in the holiday season with two traditions toward the end of November.

The 35th Annual Carol of Lights, when the Historic Downtown Grapevine will be illuminated for the holidays, will kick off the season. Over 25,000 visitors are expected to stroll along Historic Main Street and enjoy family-friendly activities including holiday bounce houses, live reindeer, and seasonal crafts. Traditional holiday treats will be available for purchase from food vendors.

Local businesses often have their Logo Design displayed, along with holiday graphic designs on vendor’s paper products.

Downtown Grapevine Annual Carol of Lights will run from 5:00pm until 9:30pm on Monday, November 20. Food vendors, however, will start serving at 4:00 pm.

A free Holiday Lights Walk will take place the following evening. Robert Kelleman will host the event.
Those wishing to participate are to meet in front of the clock tower building “Grapevine Main” at the Peace Circle bronze sculptures. Robert will be the one wearing a cap, cream-colored scarf, and brown jacket.

The 1½ mile route will go from Dallas Road to Northwest Highway along Main Street’s east side. The group will stop at interesting holiday sights as they go. At Northwest Highway, the procession will turn and walk back south to the meeting point along Main Street’s west side.

The Holiday Lights Walk will take place Tuesday, November 21st from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.
