The 2019 DFW Veterans Summit and Procurement Fair is heading this way in late February.
This once-a-year event will be an opportunity for local small businesses to meet with major commercial and government contractors for possible business ventures. A total of 20 global contractors and more than 60 other exhibitors will be participating.
The summit will open with a continental breakfast and check-in. That will be followed with a color guard, the national anthem, and Pledge of Allegiance. A welcome, check presentation, and review of the day’s activities will precede the opening of the exhibit floor.
Matchmaking sessions will be set up so veteran-owned and small businesses can speak with potential large business buyers who have come specifically to purchase their goods and services. Attendees at events such as this usually like to get their Business Cards updated and get any brochure printing done beforehand.
Four workshops are on the agenda. Two will be a Pitch Competition, with preliminaries in the morning and the finale in the afternoon. The other morning workshop will be a lecture on dealing with primes, and the other afternoon one will discuss the certification process.
From 2:00 to 2:30 pm, a prize drawing, closing remarks and closing of the exhibit floor will end the event. Proceeds will go to the Grapevine United Charities Grant Program.
The DFW Veterans Summit and Procurement Fair will be February 27 from 8:20 am until 2:30 pm at the Grapevine Convention Center, 1209 S. Main Street.
