Grapevine shivers with Halloween terror

Halloween is coming and Grapevine is getting ready to celebrate.

The Grapeyard looks set to have one of the creepiest carnivals around. Old-school carnival games with spooky, scream-worthy twists and the three singing pumpkins will greet costumed guests as they buy fall treats and try their luck. Treats will include fajitas, barbecue, pizza, beignets, donuts, and kettle corn.

Nash Farms, located at 626 Ball Street, has three fall events. The first will be a Barn Dance. This 1950s-type event will have called dances, a pie auction, and a fried chicken box supper. Its 18th Annual Fall Round-up will be the next day. This will be an agricultural affair with activities such as a pumpkin patch, pony rides, and pie making.

The weekend before Halloween will be reserved for Bewitched by the Barn. This will be a night of spooky tales, cider and popcorn in the site’s historic barn. Events such as these are usually photographed by the host to be included in the business’s next brochure printing order.

The Grapeyard will be October 26 and 27th from 6:00 pm until 11:00 pm at the Oak Grove Soccer Complex, 1299 Oak Grove Loop North.

At Nash Farm, the Barn Dance is scheduled for October 12 starting at 6:30 pm and has a $20 cover charge. The free 18th Annual Fall Round-up will be October 13 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm, and finally Bewitched by the Barn will be from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on October 27.
