Lake Grapevine Runners and Walkers will be kicking off the new year with a social New Year’s Resolution Run/Walk and a serious Bold in the Cold 5k and 15k.
The New Year's Resolution Run/Walk will begin at 8:00am on New Year’s Day at 2615 Dove Loop Road. Everyone is invited to bring food and stay afterwards to enjoy a potluck breakfast. Newcomers need not bring food.
The Lake Grapevine Runners and Walkers will also hold a Bold in the Cold 5k and 15k on Saturday, January 13th.
The 5k will cost $35 until December 31st, before rising to $40 until January 12th. It will then cost $45 to register on race day. The 15k will be $45 until December 31st, $50 from January 1st to January 12th, and $55 on race day. Club members and runners 12 years old and younger will get discounts.
Swag on offer at the events may include warm mystery gifts featuring the event’s graphic design.
Both races will begin at 8:00am near Dove Loop Road on the Horseshoe Trail and will wind along the trails circling Lake Grapevine.
Awards in each distance will go to the top overall female and male runners, overall masters female and male, overall grandmaster female and male, and to the top three 5k finishers in each of the fifteen age divisions. The winners of the 5k will get their awards at 9:00am, while the 15k winners will get theirs around 10:00am.
