As Halloween gets near, Grapevine Parks and Recreation will be presenting its annual Forest of Fears in mid-October, and Dia De Los Mopars will come later in the month.
For two nights, Forest of Fears will take place along Meadowmere Park trails, which will be festooned with spine-chilling scary movie scenes. Admission will be $15 per car and the event is not recommended for kids under 13 years old.
Forest of Fears will take place Friday, October 11 and Saturday, October 12 from 9:00 pm to 11:30 pm at Meadowmere Park, 3000 Meadowmere Lane.
For something a little more light-hearted, those attending the annual Dia De Los Mopars Trunk or Treat & Fall Festival will receive an overload of candy as they go gathering goodies between Mopar vehicles with trunks that have been decorated for the season.
The venue will also have carnival games such as a fishing booth, ring toss, cornhole, bounce houses, face painting, music, and food. Awards will be presented to the best display, trunk and costumes. Winners in Halloween contests like this often get their pictures taken to local Print shops for duplicates for family and friends.
Dia De Los Mopars Trunk or Treat & Fall Festival will take place Saturday, October 19, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at The Novus Academy, 3400 William D Tate Avenue. Admission will be free.
