Grapevine readies for annual festival

The 33rd Annual Grapefest is coming our way in a few days. The four-day event will be presented by Bank of the West again this year.

No tickets will be required on the Thursday, which will be opening day, and the following day until 5:00 pm. Unlimited rides passes will be available for Thursday only.

Peoples Choice Wine Tasting Classic will be available for one-and-a-half-hour sessions throughout the event. These tickets come with souvenir glasses sporting the event’s Logo Design. Liberty Park Plaza Wine Experiences will have wine samples from Italy’s Piedmont Region and from Michigan’s Wine Coast. Other activities will include the annual Champagne Cork Shoot-Off and the GrapeStomp.

Grapefest Golf Classic will have a four-person shamble format with proceeds going to the Grapevine Golf Association’s scholarship program. Grapefest will also feature a Tennis Classic.

Live entertainment will be at the Grapevine Mills Stage at the intersection of East Franklin Street and Main and at the Gazebo Stage at Main Street at the 300 Block. Various street performers and other live entertainers will be milling with the crowds along Main Street. KidsWorld will also present live acts and the SEALIFE Grapevine Aquarium will present live animals.

Boardwalk Auto Group will sponsor this year’s GrapeFest ItalianCarFest. Over 90 Italian-made vehicles are expected at Nash Farm this Saturday, September 7.

Grapefest will be along Main Street from Thursday, September 12 until Sunday, September 15, with hours varying.
