Grapevine is known as the ‘Christmas Capital of Texas’, and it is living up to that name again this year.
The three snowmen are getting ready to sing for the visitors to Downtown Grapevine, and the Palace Theatre will be presenting holiday films such as ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ and ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’, plus many holiday concerts.
The 38th Annual Grapevine Parade of Lights, touted as the “largest lighted Christmas parade in North Texas”, will have a new route this year. This year it will start and end on Hanover Drive. The theme will be ‘Holiday Memories’.
The parade will consist of over 100 entries of marching units, lighted floats, trailers, horses, pickup trucks, and autos. Each entry will be required to introduce its organization with Banners and/or Signs. Awards will be given to winning noncommercial entries, and Santa Claus will be bringing up the rear.
Visitors can enjoy holiday lights in historic downtown Grapevine from the comfort of a tractor-drawn wagon. Many will stop at the Gaylord Texan Resort that will be having singing cowboys, stilt walkers, and scenery with over one million Christmas lights. The venue will include a life-sized gingerbread house and a rotating 52-foot-tall Christmas tree sporting 12,000 ornaments.
The festivities will all start December 1. The Parade will be December 7 in Downtown Grapevine along Main Street, starting at 7:00 pm. Gaylord Texan Resort is at 1501 Gaylord Trail, Grapevine.
