Believe it or not, it is not too early to get tickets for the Grapevine Railroad’s North Pole Express’s opening day coming at the end of November.
Decorated coaches will be waiting at the Historic Cotton Belt Depot platform where Santa’s assistants will be singing Christmas songs and welcoming guests. Once aboard, everyone will receive a Christmas cookie and Frosty Chocolate Snow Milk in a Memory Mug. The train will top at Reindeer Ridge just long enough for Mr. Claus to get on board and give each child a “We Believe” bell.
When the train stops at the North Pole, a walk through a snow-draped forest will lead to Santa’s workshop. Santa’s helpers will enhance the holiday spirit by singing more carols and Santa will join them for more holiday cheer. Free complimentary photos with the Old Elf will be available. Many families can get their photos right away and take them to local Print shops to be made into Holiday Cards.
Back in Grapevine at 705 S. Main Street the North Pole Express Neighborhood will be full of activity. The North Pole General Store will have wooden trains and holiday merchandise. Families will also get another chance to have photos with Santa and his reindeer at Santa’s Barn, and little ones can ride the carousel.
Local artisans will help guest make their own ornaments, and display their paintings, pottery, sculptures, and jewelry. Millican’s Blacksmith Shop will be giving demonstrations.
The fun all takes place on Friday, November 29.
