Grapevine learns to shoot to shine
Dallas Photography Summit's Shoot to Shine will be coming to Grapevine in mid-August.
The two-day workshop will be taught by international master photographer Scott Robert Lim. He will be teaching four sessions he refers to as "pillars of photography.” The first pillar, "Posing the Female Form," will take place on the Saturday morning. He will demonstrate techniques in flattering the feminine form by guiding the subject to create dynamic and natural poises.
His Saturday afternoon pillar will be “Lighting.” Lim will demonstrate how to use available and natural light, adapt to challenging lighting situations, use light in a space, and enhance natural scenes. He will also showcase essential gear for on-location shoots.
Sunday morning's pillar will be “Composition,” where will teach framing, balance, and layering techniques On the Sunday afternoon, Lim will close with the fourth pillar, which is “Post-Processing.” Here, he will be demonstrating image techniques, presenting principles of designing visuals, selecting edits, and running through a step-by-step workflow to get a professional finish.
On the Saturday evening, there will be shooting bays for practice, live photography sessions, image critiques, and vendor booths. Participants at events like this often get prints of their work done at local print shops to use in their portfolios.
Registration will be $429 for members and $499 for non-members.
Shoot to Shine will take place August 9 and 10 at the Grapevine Convention Center, 1200 S Main Street. The event will begin at 9:00 am on both days.
