Grapevine hosts unusual Easter egg hunts

Most Easter egg hunts occur during the day in open areas such as fields and parks but not ours. Grapevine holds ours in the water and in the dark. Two unusual egg hunts are scheduled for March.

The first one is in water, as the Grapevine Parks and Rec will be holding its annual Wettest Egg Hunt. Five hunts will be for different age groups. The children ages 0 to 2 will have their hunt first at 4 pm. The second age group ages 3 to 4 will follow at 4:30 pm, and the 5 year olds and 6 year olds will be at 5 pm. Kids ages 7 through 8 will go at 5:30 pm and the boys and girls ages 9 and up will hunt at 6 pm. Special needs children will have special times in the morning.

The other hunt will be a couple of weeks later and this one will be at dusk. Kids twelve an under are encouraged to bring their Easter baskets and flashlights. There will be face painting, bounce houses and plenty of food to purchase. These five hunts will also be divided into age groups.

Parks and Rec may be taking pictures for their 2019 brochure printing.

Wettest Egg Hunt will be March 10th from 4 pm until 7 pm at the REC Aquatic Center, 1175 Municipal Way. The Twilight Community Egg Hunt will be at Oak Grove Soccer fields on March 23rd starting at 6:30 pm.
