Local gamers are marking their Calendars so they can compete in board games, partake in roleplaying games, strategize with miniatures, and roll dice in the Lone Star Game Expo coming in a couple of weeks. This event is for all ages, but most games have an age limit.
The event will not only have one-of-a kind game activities, but also a unique atmosphere, special speakers, and cosplay. Trophies will be awarded for best wargaming terrain and for best gamemaster.
Over 85 roleplaying games, five board games, two miniature, and ten ‘Extreme Roleplaying’ games will be on tap over the three-day period. Most RPGs will take between three to five hours to complete. Board games will run from two to three hours, and each Extreme Roleplaying game and the miniatures last about four hours a piece.
Some roleplaying games will be Pathfinder, Adventures in Middle-Earth, Powered by Fate, and Star Trek Adventures. Miniatures and board games such as Ticket to Ride, The Tiny Epic Galaxies, and Star Wars X-wing Miniature Game will be in full swing.
The Lone Star Game Expo will be Friday, October 27th from 1:00 pm until 11:00 pm; Saturday, October 28th from 9:00 am until 11:00 pm; and Sunday, October 29th from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm at the Grapevine Convention Center, 1209 S. Main Street, Grapevine. Although tickets are free, players must register for each game, and this can be done on the Game Expo’s website.
