Grapevine enjoys tennis tournament

TNT Tennis is hosting a tournament later this month.

The Main Street Fest Tennis Tournament will offer all levels of junior and adult tennis during two days of this year’s Main Street Fest. This will be a non-sanctioned event, and everyone is invited to participate.

Divisions will consist of Girls and Boys 10 and Under Singles; NTRP Women’s and NTRP Men’s Singles, Girls and Boys Doubles, Boys and Girls under 10 Mixed Doubles, Women and Men’s Doubles, Child and Parent Doubles, and NTRP Mixed Doubles. All registrants will be able to participate.

The format will consist of juniors playing eight games pro sets with no-ad scoring – meaning games are won by the first player to reach four points and the deuce and advantage stages are not included. Adults will play three regular sets and winners must win two.

A Mixed Doubles Money Madness part of the tournament will award the winning team $1,200. Last year’s event had players from ACU, LSU, UNT, TCU and SMU.

Single entrance fees will be $21 each, and doubles will be $19 each and open mixed doubles will cost $33 for each team member.

All entrants will receive high quality tennis experiences, passes to the Street Fest and tournament tee-shirts touting the event’s Logo Design.

The Main Street Fest Tennis Tournament will be held Friday, May 18 and Saturday, May 19 at Dove Park, Colleyville Heritage High School, and Grapevine High School. All play will take place on hard courts.
