Grapevine will be upholding its title of “Christmas Capital of Texas” as Historic Downton Grapevine prepares for the holiday season with Carol of Lights and the Parade of Lights.
Carol of Lights will again light Main Street with live performances, light shows, and fireworks. Family-friendly activities such as sledding the new snow hill, live reindeer photo opportunities, crafts and holiday treats, courtesy of local food vendors, will begin late afternoon.
Many guests will have reserved special seating for the 7:00 pm Street Lighting show by going online and getting their $5 tickets beforehand. The 2020 Carol of Lights will take place Monday, November 23, in downtown around Grapevine City Hall from 4:00 pm until after the street lighting show.
A week and a half later Downtown Grapevine will continue to light up with the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce’s annual Parade of Lights. The 100+ lighted floats make this parade known as the largest of its kind in North Texas. Marching bands such as the ones in this parade often get special seasonal banner printing done to introduce themselves to the spectators.
Awards will be given for the top three places, Best Marching Group and People Choice. Voting for the People’s Choice Award will be done via Twitter beginning at 7:00 pm on parade day, and ending at midnight.
The Parade of Lights will begin at 7:00 pm on December 3.
