GrapeFest returns for 38th year

The 38th GrapeFest will be coming to Grapevine in mid-September.

The four-day event will have its traditional Champagne cork shoot-off, grape stomp, and Italian Car Fest. The festival will have a carnival and other kid-friendly activities, a champagne terrace, the gazebo's traditional Rose Rendezvous and an international wine experience in the Liberty Park Plaza.

Cotton Belt Railroad District at 705 W. Main will have its popular People's Choice Winetasting Classic. Attendees will be choosing their favorite wines in 10 categories. White wines will be judged on dry, semi-sweet, blends, rose/blush, and sweet while reds will include sweet, bold, medium, light and red blends. Winners will be announced on Sunday at 5:00 pm.

VIP People's Choice tasting sessions will be 90-minute sessions on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This will be in a private tent with live music, gourmet charcuteries and wine glasses etched with the event's Logo Design.

Festival guests may browse through handcrafted, homemade, and hand-stitched items to be found in the artisans' booths and the goods and services offered in the retail vendors' marketplace.

Commercial, non-profit and civic food vendors will be selling food items and non-alcoholic beverages from trailers, tents, carts and concession stands.

This year's GrapeFest will take place Thursday, September 12th from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm, Friday and Saturday from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm, and Sunday September 15th from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm in Downtown Grapevine.
