Golf and concert arranged for charities

The 57th Annual Westapher Charity Golf Tournament is scheduled for early October, and Songs & Smiles, supporting Alzheimer families, will be holding their annual concert in early November.

The Preston Center Rotary Club will be presenting its 57th Annual Westapher Golf Tournament on Columbus Day. Proceeds will go to the nonprofit Youth Equipped to Succeed, an organization with programs including wellness education, motivational experiences, and peer-to-peer mentoring, that promote positive youth development.

Individual tickets are $350 and include tournament play, breakfast, and lunch. Sponsor packages are available at the $500, $1250, $2000, $2500, $4000, and $5000 levels. A private event will be held for sponsors and donors from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday.

The 57th Annual Westapher Charity Golf Tournament will take place from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm Monday, October 10th at Cowboys Golf Club, 1600 Fairway Drive.

Johnny Meyer presents story and song in bluegrass fashion plus American roots music at the Songs and Smiles Benefit concert. His five-piece band includes award-winning mandolin player, Mary Meyer.

Hailing from Branson Missouri, comedian Ted Cunningham will be bringing his own form of comedy to the stage.
Other performers will be Jimmy and Cheyenne, and the charity’s co-founder Eric Kolb.

Songs & Smiles Benefit concert will take place Thursday, November 3, beginning at 7:00 pm at the Palace Theatre, 300 S. Main Street.
