Elks hold crawfish boil

Grapevine Elks Lodge #2483 will hold its 6th annual Crawfish Boil in mid-March. This is their main yearly fundraiser.

Crawfish will be cooked outdoors, and the first batch should be ready around 1:00 pm. Cooking and serving will continue until around 6:00 pm or until the crawfish is gone.

Freshly boiled crawfish will be served from coolers using scoops. Guests will stand around outside to eat. Crawfish alternatives will be sausage, smoked BBQ brisket, chicken jambalaya and boiled shrimp. Sides will include red potatoes, corn on the cob, sausage, chicken wings, and mushrooms.

Tickets are $40 for all-you-can-eat, and $20 for those wishing to only eat the side dishes. Beer, soft drinks, and bottled water will be available for purchase.

Guests are invited to bring their own lawn chairs for outdoor seating. Zydeco, Cajun, and blues music will be playing during the day outdoors and Scott Moore’s karaoke will be indoors during the evening, with dancing encouraged.

Also, during the evening, Mardi Gras beads will be distributed, and New Orleans Hurricanes served in cups sporting a Mardi Gras graphic design will be available for $5.

Guests may bring chips, snacks, desserts, and appetizers to share for the evening’s festivities.

The Elks Crawfish Boil is scheduled for Saturday, March 12 from 11:00 am to 11:30 pm at the Grapevine Elks Lodge #2483, 909 Bushong Road.
